Who are the Powerful Chainsaw Mans?
Without explaining Chainsaw Man's fiendish nature, Power and her capabilities cannot be discussed. Let's begin by understanding what a fiend is and how it differs to the devil.
What's a Fiend?
Fiend can be used in this anime to refer to a devil who has overtaken a human body. In Chainsaw Man's plot, Power is the first fiend that we meet. This is the blood devil that has overtaken the young girl's body. Although she looks very similar to Chainsaw Man and other devils at first, fiends possess distinct characteristics that reveal their identities. They are not devils. You can use our dedicated guide to understand the difference between fiends, devils, and hybrids in Chainsaw Man.
Blood Fiend power
Chainsaw Man's fiend form of the blood devil is Power. She's also one of the closest friends of Denji, the protagonist of CSM. In Chapter 4, we are introduced to Power as members of Public Safety Devil Hunters Tokyo special Division 4 under Makima.
Power is a fiend with devilish characteristics. Even in her human form. Pinkish blonde hair and two red-colored horns on her head. Her eyes have a yellow cross design in the middle. Power has fang-shaped teeth.
Power, despite her childish and chaotic appearance at first glance is clearly the main character in Chainsaw Man. As shown in Chapter 24, she puts her own survival first and will not hesitate to flee from battles in order to save herself.
In Chapter 29 we learn that Power's selfishness and self-centered nature mean that she always chooses the side that wins, whether it be devils or humans. In Chapter 36 she claims all meat, whether it's human, animal, zombie or devil, is exactly the same.
She also fits well with her impulsive and chaotic personality. Even worse, she doesn't like cleaning up after herself. She is also an avowed liar. Power, despite fighting the devil in Chapter 11, has no problems eating her squad's food and blames Denji. She also shows a positive side. When Meowy, Meowy's cat was abducted from her home, we first see her caring nature. She later starts to look after her closest friends Denji and Aki.
What is Meowy?
Power is a survivalist, as we have already mentioned. If she can, Power won't hesitate in attacking wild animals or other devils. In Chapter 7, however, we see an exception to this rule: Meowy, Meowy's pet cat. Meowy was so close to her that she would risk her life to bring a ransom to Denji, the Bat Devil who abducted Meowy.

It's difficult to picture Power without this cat. The cat's Japanese name for cat is **Nyako **",. This is an adorable way to pronounce Neko (the Japanese term for cat) in Japanese Manga. To make it relatable, the translators may have used Meowy. You think Power would name the cat Meowy if he could? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
Chainsaw Manpower: Blood Devil Form
Power was a Wild devil who had no loyalty to humans or devils before taking control of the young girl's body. She is a complete devil with long horns and shark-like fangs. Her pupils are also cross-patterned like the fiend version. Her chest has been torn open, and her intestines can wrap around her neck.

She also has sharp feet and claws to protect her hands. The devil-form of Power, as a whole is not like her adorable human form. She is terrifying and frightening, her powers adding only to the overwhelming personality.
Chainsaw Manpower: Abilities
Power, like other Chainsaw Man devils has some common abilities and special powers. Both types of power are described in the sections below.
These abilities are similar to those of Chainsaw Man's devils:
Healing: She is able to drink blood from other animals, whether they are humans or devils, in order to heal herself.
The Blood devil is able to make agreements with people in her devil-like form. Although she can take control of human bodies to become a fiend, her ability to create contracts is lost until the body has been killed.
Speed and Strength Due to her fiend nature, Power is less powerful than other devils. She's stronger than many devils and humans, but she can still run faster. We see her evading Katana Man and attacking him with ease in Chapter 23.
Power has a powerful sense of smell, which we see in Chapter 5. Denji didn't notice the presence of Sea Cucumber Devil.
Blood Devil Abilities
Power, the Blood devil's special ability in Chainsaw Man is that it has these abilities:
- Blood Weaponization: Her blood can be used to make weapons. In Chapters 5, 6 and 31, she creates a weapon with her blood: a hammer and long spear.
Blood Manipulation: In her devil-form, Power can control blood and alter the power, regeneration, or other aspects of anyone's life. It is this ability that allows Power to assist Denji in defeating the main antagonist of the first CSM arc.
- Chapter 90: Thousand Tera Blood rain We get to see one of Power's most devastating moves. She uses dozens of blood weapons against her foes, inflicting severe injuries on them.
Blood Boost: Being the blood devil, Power can drink too much blood and her horns will grow taller. She also has an increase in strength. We see this clearly in Chapter 38, when she sends Denji away easily with a punch. Towards the later part of the manga, this ability goes to another level, when she resists the Control devil's powers by drinking Pochita's blood.
What does power do for Denji during the final battle?
Note:* The following section includes the most important spoilers for the Public Safety arc of Chainsaw Man manga and anime. It is recommended that you only read this section after reading the CSM manga arc.
In the final chapters of the first part of Chainsaw Man manga, Makima kills Power and relieves her of the fiend body. Denji is allowed to consume her blood before she's killed. Her consciousness is then a tiny part of Denji when she passes away. Power and Pochita then make an agreement to defeat Makima. She then appears from Denji in her devil-like form, and attacks Makima as she tries to kill him. The result is a fierce fight between Makima's henchmen and Chainsaw Man and Power.
After they escape Power and Denji transform into human form. She then allows Denji to consume her blood and gives her power to Denji, in order to defeat Control. Power is gone at this point. She asks Denji for help after she reincarnates into the human realm. However, she warns Denji that she might attack him and won't be able to remember her. Denji later uses Power's blood for a chainsaw that he kills Makima. He also restricts Makima's healing abilities.
